January – early April
Prime billfish
Pacific Sailfish, Blue and Black Marlin offshore. Sardine schools on the beaches concentrate predators inshore.
Year-Round Fishing
Green season
Roosterfish, Cubera Snapper and jigging off Corcovado. Offshore days depend on sea and weather conditions.
October – November
Mahi & tuna
Seasonal Mahi-Mahi move through Caño Island; high-speed trolling for Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo.

Sierpe Fishing started in 2005 with a simple idea: share the incredible fishing of our home waters with people from around the world. What began as a small operation has grown almost entirely through recommendations and returning anglers.
Many of our guests have been fishing with us for years. Some started as customers and became friends — part of our extended fishing family.

What to bring
Come ready for a day on the Pacific
We provide the conventional fishing equipment you’ll need for your charter. We recommend bringing:
- Polarized sunglasses
- Hat and high-SPF sunscreen
- Comfortable lightweight clothing
- Light rain jacket from May through November
- Waterproof dry bag for phones and cameras
- Cooler and bags if you’ll take part of your catch home
Fly anglers should bring their complete personal fly-fishing setup.
Conservation
Respect the fish. Protect the experience.
The waters surrounding the Osa Peninsula are our home, and protecting them matters to us. Billfish, Roosterfish, and Tarpon are strictly catch-and-release, and billfish stay in the water during photographs.
Take what you’ll enjoy for dinner and leave the rest for another day — because world-class fishing should still be here for the next generation.

We can’t say enough about this guide the experience that comes with. Not only are you all but guaranteed to land fish, you will also take the most scenic route out to fish. I typically stay back while my husband and son fish, but they convinced me to tag along this time. It was an absolutely magical experience!!

The tour we took in Sierpe was one of a kind! Our guide and boating pilot took us deep down the river and had an incredible eye for wildlife! From birds to monkeys to sloths, it was fascinating and informative! The tour did not feel rushed and well worth the money. It was peaceful and all my questions were answered professionally!
