Fishing Report, August 2026

August has been an exciting month on the water here in Sierpe. We’ve been getting out regularly, fishing both along the coast and around Caño Island, and the fishing has been offering a great variety of species and techniques.

Along the coast, we’ve had multiple roosterfish catches, along with some sierra mackerels, barracudas and jacks. The roosterfish have provided plenty of action, making coastal fishing a great option for anglers looking for exciting surface strikes and hard-fighting fish.

Near Caño Island, we’ve also seen some very good activity from wahoo and yellowfin tuna. These fast and powerful fish have added another level of excitement to our trips and have kept us moving from one productive area to another.

Jigging has also been productive this month, with several groupers, red snappers, pompano and bluefin trevally making it to the boat. Jigging around the deeper structure continues to be one of our favorite ways to target strong, hard-fighting fish.

Overall, August has been giving us a nice mix of roosterfish, wahoo, yellowfin tuna, sierra mackerel, jacks, groupers, pompanos, red snappers, barracudas and bluefin trevally, with opportunities for trolling, surface fishing and jigging.

If you’ve been thinking about coming fishing with us, now is a great time to book your trip. Whether you want to chase roosterfish along the coast, look for tuna and wahoo around Isla del Caño, or test your skills with some jigging, we’d love to have you aboard.
