Sport fishing in Sierpe, Costa Rica

Fishing Report, July 2017

The month of July has brought us a little more rain and with them the wahoos and yellowfin tuna have arrived near the Caño Island, these are biting mainly in the trolling  modality.

These rains cause the rivers to increase their flow and take to the sea floating objects such as logs and branches which once in the ocean attract fish.

Although in the coast sometimes the water is not so clean due to the rains some species like the roosterfish have been biting, both casting and live bait.

As for the Sierpe river these rainy months are best for fishing up the river where the Snook, Mangrove snapper and some Tarpon have been biting.
